How fantasy points are scored
Football
Most points leagues start from a familiar base: 1 point per 25 passing yards, 4 per passing touchdown, −2 per interception, 1 point per 10 rushing or receiving yards, and 6 per rushing or receiving touchdown. The biggest difference between leagues is points per reception: none in standard scoring, 0.5 in half-PPR, and 1 in full PPR. Kickers and team defenses have their own scoring, which varies more from one platform to another.
Baseball
This calculator is for points leagues. The starting values follow ESPN's standard head-to-head points setup as ESPN has published it: hitters earn a point for each total base, run, RBI, walk, and stolen base and lose a point per strikeout; pitchers earn 3 points per inning (one per out) and a point per strikeout, 2 for a win or hold, and 5 for a save, and lose 2 per earned run, 1 per hit or walk allowed, and 2 per loss. Roto and category leagues don't use points at all, so they don't apply here.
Innings pitched use baseball notation: 6.1 means 6⅓ innings and 6.2 means 6⅔.
Make it match your league
- Edit any "Pts each" value. Commissioners change scoring all the time, and the defaults here are only starting points.
- Check the platform's scoring page. ESPN, Yahoo, and Sleeper differ, especially for kickers, defenses, and pitchers.
- Bonuses aren't included. Extras like 100-yard-game bonuses can be added by hand to the total.

Does this work for fantasy hockey or basketball?
Not yet. This calculator covers football and baseball only.
Why doesn't my total match my league's app?
Most often it's a scoring difference — points per reception, passing touchdowns worth 6 instead of 4, or bonuses. Compare each "Pts each" value against your league settings page.
How do I enter a fractional inning?
Use the notation MLB box scores use: .1 is one out and .2 is two outs, so 6.1 innings is 6⅓ and 6.2 is 6⅔.
Are the team defense points-allowed tiers standard?
They're a common starting point, but platforms use different tables. Edit the tier values to match yours.
