Will this catch resized or cropped copies of the same photo?
Resized copies, yes — the hash is based on relative brightness patterns, not exact pixel size, so a photo and its smaller resized version will usually still match. Cropped or rotated versions are harder to catch reliably, since cropping changes which parts of the image are compared.
Why does raising the sensitivity slider find more matches?
The slider controls how many of the 64 fingerprint bits are allowed to differ before two images still count as a match. A stricter setting only flags near-perfect duplicates; a looser setting also catches images that are merely visually similar, like two photos taken seconds apart in the same scene.
Does this work with HEIC photos from an iPhone?
It depends on your browser's built-in image support — Safari can usually display HEIC files directly, while some other browsers may not render them. If a thumbnail doesn't appear, try converting the batch with the Image Converter first.
